Can Achlorhydria/Hypochlorhydria cause constipation?

Can conditions involving Achlorhydria cause constipation or would the be more likely to cause diarrhea or neither?

What other problems could no/low stomach acid cause?

For example why would it inhibit the activation of the enzyme pepsin and why would Achlorhydria cause malabsorbtion of some vitamins?
