The recommended daily allowance is a basis for the percentage of the type of food you need to take every day. It is considered essential for any strict diet rules especially those which pertain to colon cleansing. You could always get a handful of knowledge on this subject.
The United States Department of Agriculture had developed a new and large way of peeking into the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) your body needs. They produced dietary reference intakes that are divided into four groups namely:
• Recommended Dietary Allowance. This is a dietary reference of a minimum stage requirement that is needed by people on a particular age and group. The required nutrients for a healthy person are about 97% to 98% from the daily diet.
• Adequate Intake. This is only necessary if you cannot determine your recommended dietary allowance. Its consumption is established according to researches and examination of nutrients that is needed by a group of healthy persons.
• Tolerable Upper Intake Level. This type of dietary reference is based on the maximum level of daily nutrient consumption needed by most people. The consumption must be limited so that it will not pose any adverse reaction on your part.
• Estimated Average Requirement. This is used as the foundation for RDA and is considered as an important reference for your daily nutrient consumption.
Choosing the right RDA
Recommended daily allowance is the most commonly used measurement for your daily intake of vitamins and nutrients. The information is usually found on the label of these supplements. However, this measurement found in your daily supplements is only calculated and is not usually the right amount. If you want to be sure that you are taking the right amount, it is best that you consult your doctor.
How to Convert Micrograms, Milligrams and International Units
There are a lot of units of measurements used in determining the charts and product labels.
To change micrograms to milligrams you should divide the micrograms by 1,000. For example if you have 400 micrograms (mcg), divide that by 1000 for you to get .4 milligrams (mg). If you want to convert it the other way around, you should multiply the milligrams by 1,000. The International Units cannot be converted into milligrams because they are two different kinds of measurement. International Units are used to measure the strength of vitamins and minerals, while micrograms are used to measure the bulk or load of your vitamins.
RDA for vitamins
The daily recommended intake for vitamins that is advisable for infants and children will depend on their age. As for adults, it will also rely upon the age as well as the condition of your body. The upper intake levels for vitamins are not established yet due to insufficient data available. It is advised though that due to this insufficiency, you can just take natural foods in order to prevent the higher level of consumption of vitamin supplements.
Always remember that complying with RDA is essential to your health in all aspects. Your colon cleansing program should be supplemented by this guide in order for it to be effective. You have to start practicing the habit now so you would not regret the results later.
